The roots of GOTOH GUT are derived from the fact that the founder (Masao Gotoh) started manufacturing violin strings in 1950. Since then, we have been involved in the manufacture of various stringed instruments parts.

Digital printing machine introduced. Started on-demand printing to reduce catalog loss.

All lighting in the factory is converted to LED to promote energy saving.

Water jet processing machine introduced. CFRP processing started.

New warehouse building construction. Automated warehouse operation started.

The founder of Gotoh, Masao Gotoh passed away.

Established independent section for metallic mold as G-Grade Inc.

Established licensing agreement with Trev Wilkinson and started the manufacturing of Wilkinson bridges.

Discontinued pickup manufacture.

Established a processing plant for metallic molds and tailpieces.

Began manufacture and sales of pickups for electric guitars and basses.
