CORPORATE HISTORY

 

June, 1950   Established Gotoh Gut research institute" at Sanko-cho, Isesaki-shi, Gumma-ken,
and started manufacture of musical strings (mainly for violin) and other gut products with sales starting.
The founder of Gotoh : Masao Gotoh
     
1952   Began manufacture of steel and nylon bowstrings
     
July, 1960   Gotoh limited company is established.
     
October, 1960   Newly-built factory at Tsunatorimachi, Isesaki-shi. Began manufacture of the spool for stringed instruments and assembly parts.
     
November, 1976   Newly-built factory at Miyakomamachi, Isesaki-shi.
     
1978   Withdraw from manufacture of musical strings
     
1983   Began manufacture and sales of bridges and tailpieces for electric guitars and bases.
     
September, 1985   Metallic mold design manufacture is began.
     
1986   Began manufacture of Floyd rose tremolo under a licensing agreement.
     
1988   began manufacture and sales of pickups for electric guitars and basses.
     
September, 1990   Established a processing plant for metallic molds and tailpieces.
     
1993   Discontinued pickup manufacture.
     
July, 1994   Changed the representative director president.
     
1998   The licensing agreement with Wilkinson and stated manufacture Wilkinso bridge.
     
April, 2003   Established independent section for metallic mold as G-Grade Inc.
     
November, 2005   The founder of Gotoh, Masao Gotoh passed away.
